Plain-language definitions for terms that come up across Studio Insights, with links to every post tagged with each one.

Active Spender
A Roblox player who has made qualifying purchases totalling at least $9.99 anywhere on Roblox in the past 60 days. Used to qualify sessions for Daily Engagement Rewards.
ARPDAU
Average Revenue Per Daily Active User. A quick way to compare how well a game monetises its daily players.
Audience Expansion Rewards
The second half of Roblox Creator Rewards, paid for bringing new or reactivated players to Roblox. Requires an ID-verified account and a valid DevEx account.
Avatar marketplace
Where Roblox players buy avatar clothing, accessories, animations and bodies. Selling an item splits between creator and seller commissions.
Creator Rewards
Robux paid for engagement rather than sales, made up of Daily Engagement Rewards and Audience Expansion Rewards. Replaced Engagement-Based Payouts.
Daily Engagement Rewards
5 Robux per qualifying player per day when your game is one of the first three an Active Spender launches that day and they play for ten minutes or more.
DAU
Daily Active Users. The number of unique players who launch your game in a day.
Developer product
A one-time, in-experience purchase on Roblox, usually a consumable or a permanent upgrade. The creator keeps 70% of the Robux spent. Read every Developer products post
DevEx
Roblox Developer Exchange program. Converts Earned Robux to real money once a developer hits the minimum balance and meets verification requirements.
Earned Robux
Robux earned from sales and rewards, as opposed to Robux bought. Only Earned Robux can be cashed out through DevEx.
Engagement-Based Payouts
The older Roblox programme that paid creators based on player engagement time. Replaced by Creator Rewards.
Floor price
The minimum price an avatar marketplace item can be listed for. Progressive share calculations use the floor as their starting point.
Immersive ad
A 3D billboard-style ad placed inside a Roblox experience. The format has its own eligibility, reporting and revenue rules.
Marketplace fee
Roblox's 30% share of Robux spent on passes and developer products. The creator keeps the remaining 70%.
MAU
Monthly Active Users. The number of unique players who launch your game in a month.
Pass
A permanent, one-time purchase that unlocks something in a Roblox experience, such as a game mode or ability. Like developer products, the creator keeps 70%.
Progressive share
An avatar-marketplace commission that rises above the 30% base as the item's price moves above its floor. Confirmed anchor points are 30%, 50% and 69%.
R6 / R15
Roblox avatar rig types. R6 has six body parts and older animation; R15 has fifteen parts and more expressive movement. Eligibility for the US 18+ DevEx rate depends on the avatar format a game allows. Read every Avatar post
Retention
The share of players who come back after their first session. Day-one and day-seven retention are the most common benchmarks.
Rewarded video
A video ad a player chooses to watch in exchange for an in-experience reward. Roblox provides the inventory and pays the creator a share.
UGC
User-Generated Content. On Roblox this most often means avatar items, accessories and clothing made and sold by creators.
W-8 / W-9
US tax forms required to join Roblox DevEx. US taxpayers file a W-9; non-US taxpayers file the appropriate W-8 form.
